One day, somewhere in the north of the ever gloomy lowlands, where once marshes dominated the landscape but now have become trembling gas fields, August woke up from a deep sleep. Drowsy, he opened the curtains and peered out over the arid and desolate land, while fragments of music swirled through his mind. He took his old four-track to keep these fragments for they should not be lost. And so the story of WHITECOURT begins!
Encouraged by enthusiasts, August is determined to further develop the sketches into full-fledged songs. And so it happens. After some time the songs are recorded in a former paint factory that was unable to withstand the crisis of the 1980s. Perhaps the grayness of this past is still reflected in the songs on the album; an alternative rock album with edgy guitar driven songs, often with warmth and melancholy. The album was released in November 2019.
The mainly personal lyrics deal with themes such as loss, youthful naivety, death, relational issues and love.
WHITECOURT, consisting of singer/guitarist August, drummer HJ, bassist Taco and guitarist Erik, now extensively use the NPB studio for band rehearsals.
Besides shaping the songs from the album to fit a live setting, WHITECOURT is also working on songs for a second album.
